Always Pre-Book your Airport Car Parking
With any airport car parking we recommend that you always book as early as possible to save money and get the best deals. By completing an early booking, you will get a greater choice of car parks, access to greater discounts and get access to better rates rather than leaving things until the last minute. We know this is not always possible due to last minute holiday deals but in short, the more time between now and your scheduled / chartered flight, the better rate should be recieved for airport car parking.
By making a pre-booking guarantees you a parking space usually with the pre-booking discount applied to the price saving you money. This discount in question can represent a significant saving which would not be readily available to holidaymakers who haven't pre-booked and simply turned up at the car park in hope of a car parking space.
Airport Car Parking Tips
It's always worth checking to find out if the airport car park you have chosen regularly checks your car including starting it. Not all airport car parks offer a service where they charge your battery if they cannot start your car so it's aways worth asking, especially if you are going away for more than 10 days or the weather is cold.
Find out how far away the parking facility is to your terminal, how long it will take to get there and how frequently shuttle buses arrive to pickup and drop passengers off back to their car.
Arrival and Return Procedures
Make sure you get a clear set of procedures regarding your arrival and return to your chosen airpark. There is nothing worse than returning from holiday in a busy airport at 4 oclock in the morning to discover you don't know what to do or where to go in order to find your car park let alon your car!
Security
Check the background of the car park to see what sort of security measures are in place to give you some peace of mind. Some of the more prestigious car parks have been given awards so lookout for these plus the following:
- Perimiter Fencing
- Entry and Exit Barriers
- Regular Security Patrols
- Manned 24 hours a day
- CCTV
Most airport car parks these days have facilities which won't allow cars in or out without sufficient booking references, identification or signatures but it's a good idea to check.
Other Useful Information
This site will tell you the extra information that could be useful for each APH airport car park. Some airparks maybe suitable for the disabled, may or may not be covered by insurance and may have height or trailer restrictions.
Decide which type of parking you require. If you have children and the hassle of transfers to and from the airport sound a little daunting, why not choose a Meet and Greet service. This is where a chauffeur will meet you usually outside the terminal you are flying from and take your car and park it! The Meet and Greet option is slightly more expensive but much more attractive to families and longhaul passengers. When you return from your trip, call the number given to you as you pickup your luggage and your car will be outside the terminal waiting for you.
it maybe even worth considering a taxi transfer which takes the hassle of driving and being tired out of the return journey, especially if your inward flight time is early hours of the morning or you have just returned from a longhaul flight. |
