Founded in 1930, Liverpool Airport was initially known as Speke Airport and was designed to be a commercial airport from day one. Although it did act as a base for the Royal Air Force during World War II, this is the only time at which it has ever moved away from commercial flights. It is currently owned by British Aerospace and offers more than 6 million passengers access to more than 60 destinations around the world so you have plenty of choice.
