Stansted Airport (STN)
Stansted Airport is owned by BAA and is officially the fourth largest and busiest airport in the UK today. Over 20 million passengers travel through it every single year, thus putting it behind Heathrow and Gatwick in London. However, the number of travellers is going up every year as a result of the sheer number of destinations available, which today stands at over 120 worldwide.
Originally a World War II United States Airforce bomber base, Stansted was opened to commercial passengers in the 1960s after the package holiday abroad became not only affordable but popular. There is currently one terminal at the airport but there are plans to expand the site in the future. However, for now, there are fantastic facilities there.
